Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the Sado Dance movement in Jorong Padang Panjang Nagari Tanah Datar Regency seen from the aspects of space, time and energy. The type of research used is qualitative research with descriptive analysis methods. The instruments in this study were the researchers themselves with the help of stationery, flash drives and cameras. The type of data uses primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques are carried out by means of literature studies, observation, interviews and documentation. The steps used in analyzing data are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The findings of this study indicate the existence of Sado Dance seen from the elements of space, namely the lines are dominated by straight lines, which means that the Sado Dance movement has a calm and balanced impression. The volume of the movement is dominated by moderate volume. The dominant direction is facing forward. The dominant level is moderate. The dominant focus of view is forward. The time aspect has a dominant tempo and rhythm, which is moderate. Sado Dance has regular repetitive movements that create a sense of balance from various parts of the dance movement. The energy aspect has a dominant intensity element, there is a lot of intensity in each dance movement, strong dominant pressure and moderate dominant quality so that Sado Dance seems enthusiastic.
